ACDR Hosts Virtual Experts Roundtable

In partnership with the United Nations Development Program and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, ACDR hosted a Virtual Experts Roundtable on June 11, 2021. The experts presented international best practices in the development of ADR and of an ADR center, shared their own experiences, and shed some light on the particular opportunities and challenges Armenia faces in the development of arbitration and mediation.

 

List of Participating Experts

  • Nayiri Boghossian. Counsel and arbitrator based in Dubai since 2002. She has worked on cross-jurisdictional disputes representing parties and advising them in proceedings governed by the laws of various Arab countries. Prior to her current role, Nayiri was a partner at Eversheds LLP where she also acted as the head of the disputes practice of the firm in the Middle East.

  • Alexander G. Fessas is the Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, where he is responsible for the operational management and coordination of the ICC Court’s Secretariat and other dispute resolution services in Paris, Hong Kong, New York, Sao Paolo, Singapore and Abu Dhabi Global Market.

  • Grant Hanessian. Independent arbitrator and neutral in New York, specializing in international, investor-state and complex commercial disputes. Prior to July 2020, he was a partner at Baker McKenzie, where he practiced for 33 years, and served as global co-head of the firm's International Arbitration Practice, head of its International Arbitration Practice in North America and head of its New York office Litigation Department.

  • Annette Magnusson. Co-Founder of Climate Change Counsel, a legal consultancy with a focus to accelerate solutions to climate change.  She is the immediate past Secretary General of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (2010-2021).

  • Diana Tsutieva. Counsel, International Litigation & Arbitration Department, Foley Hoag, Washington, D.C. She is a tri-lingual (Russian, English, and French) dual-qualified (U.S. and France) international dispute resolution attorney, with extensive experience in complex international investment arbitration matters, public international law matters, and international commercial arbitration.
