Competitive economies require stable, reliable and inexpensive mechanisms to resolve disputes.

A new non-governmental, non-profit organization, the Armenia Center for Dispute Resolution (ACDR), has been established in Yerevan, Armenia to implement a 10-year strategic plan to develop and build capacity in arbitration and mediation, and to administer ADR cases beyond.

ACDR’s mission and purpose is to develop and promote the practice of arbitration and mediation in all aspects of Armenia’s legal community. For the first five-years, the program will focus on building capacity for ADR practice in Armenia, including amending relevant legislation, recruiting and training neutrals, training the legal community, educating the public, and marketing Armenia as a seat of arbitration. The second five years will focus on running the hearing center, with the goal of reaching full financial sustainability in Year 10. The strategic plan will be implemented with the cooperation and assistance from justice reform and ADR experts from all over the world, both public and private sector.
